Managed by the Congregation of Christian Brothers in India, established in the year 1923,
St. Edmund's College is one of NE India's most distinguished institutions.
In its inception, the University Section offered Inter-Arts & Inter-Science
courses affiliated with Calcutta University — the first step of a remarkable journey.
Thereafter the College got affiliated to Gauhati University & NEHU.
Presently, the College offers 22 undergraduate programs & Social Work
PG program aligned with NEP 2020. In 2015, it became the only college
in Eastern India to receive STAR STATUS from the Department of Biotechnology,
Government of India. The Biotech Hub and Bioinformatics facility along with
PM-USHA Equity Grant further strengthen its research credentials.
Accredited by NAAC across four cycles, the College lives by its motto: Facta Non Verba — Deeds Not Words.
